FAQs

  • Your first osteopathy appointment usually lasts 45-60 minutes. This allows time for a detailed case history, assessment, and your first treatment. Follow-up sessions are typically 30 or 45 minutes, depending on your needs and treatment plan. This ensures your osteopath has enough time to review your progress, and continue working towards reducing pain, improving mobility, and supporting your recovery.

  • Many private health insurers and health cash plans cover osteopathy treatments. We do not currently accept AXA or Bupa, but you may be able to claim through other providers depending on your policy. As cover varies, it’s always best to check with your insurer before booking a treatment.

  • We accept card payments, bank transfers, and cash at the clinic, making it easy and convenient to pay for your osteopathy, pilates, or massage appointment. Please note that all treatments must be paid for prior to attending your session to confirm your booking. If you have any questions about payment options or need an invoice for insurance or health cash plan claims, our team will be happy to help.

  • No referral is required to see an osteopath, join a pilates class, or book a massage session at Release Osteopathy. You can book directly with us at a time that suits you, without referral from your doctor. If your practitioner feels you would benefit from further medical tests or input from another healthcare professional, we will always discuss this with you and guide you on the next steps.

  • For your osteopathy, pilates, or massage session, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy movement, such as sportswear or gym clothes. If you are having treatment on the lower body-including the hips, knees, or feet, it’s a great idea to bring or wear sports shorts so your osteopath can assess and treat the area more effectively.

For pilates classes, stretchy clothing like leggings or shorts with a t-shirt works well, while massage sessions are usually carried out with towels provided for comfort and modesty. Choosing the right clothing helps you get the most out of your appointment and ensures your practitioner can work effectively.

  • Our clinic is conveniently located at The Hide, Unit 1, Lanteague Studios, just 10 minutes from Newquay and 15 minutes from Truro. We welcome clients from across the local area for osteopathy, pilates, and massage. For directions, parking information, and contact details, please visit our contact page.

  • We provide sports massage designed to meet your individual needs. Each session is tailored to your goals, whether that’s reducing muscle tension, supporting injury recovery, or improving performance. Your therapist will adapt techniques to ensure the treatment is effective and suited specifically to you.
