Osteopathy, Massage & Pilates
Minutes from Cornwallโs North Coast
Welcome to Release Osteopathy, where our mission is to help you feel better, move more easily, and relieve pain.
We focus on addressing the underlying causes of your discomfort rather than just the symptoms. Using evidence-based manual therapy techniques and tailored exercises, we create personalised treatment plans that provide lasting relief and improved well-being.
Services we offer
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a hands-on, non-invasive therapy that targets the root cause of your pain or discomfort, rather than just treating the symptoms. Through a range of techniques, osteopaths work to improve movement, reduce pain, and promote healing.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is a form of manual therapy that aids in reducing stress and tension in the muscles. It encourages relaxation while enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of the muscles.
Pilates
Pilates is a low-impact exercise that helps strengthen muscles while improving posture and flexibility. With a focus on the core, Pilates enhances overall strength and stability, making it ideal for improving balance and reducing the risk of injury.

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing such as leggings, shorts, or tracksuit bottoms with a T-shirt or vest. This allows your osteopath to properly assess posture, movement, and muscle function. You are welcome to bring a change of clothes if preferred.

An initial consultation typically lasts between 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this appointment, your practitioner will take a detailed case history, asking questions about your health, lifestyle, and specific concerns. This is followed by a comprehensive physical examination to assess your posture, movement, and any areas of discomfort. The session concludes with hands-on treatment tailored to your needs, giving you both immediate care and a clear understanding of the next steps in your treatment plan.
-
No, you do not need a referral from your GP to attend an osteopathic appointment. You can book an appointment with us directly. However, where appropriate, we are more than happy to work in collaboration with your GP or other healthcare providers to ensure you receive the best possible care. If your case requires additional medical tests or specialist input, we can advise you on the next steps.
-
We are a private clinic, and payment is required at the time of your appointment. We do not bill directly through private health insurance providers. However, we are happy to provide detailed receipts for each treatment session. These receipts are usually valid for most health cash plans and can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement, depending on the terms of your policy.
If you are unsure whether your provider covers osteopathy or manual therapy, we recommend checking with them before your appointment.
-
To ensure a smooth experience, please arrive no earlier than five minutes before your scheduled appointment. We have a comfortable waiting area just inside the entrance where you can relax until your practitioner is ready to see you.

Both osteopathy and physiotherapy are evidence-based practises. Both receive extensive training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and practical skills. In the UK, most physiotherapists receive their education through the NHS and complete rotations in the fields of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiology and respiratory health. Osteopathic training focuses on musculoskeletal health, and practitioners are well-versed in the application of spinal and joint manipulation, which is a core component of their four-year training. Osteopaths are more likely to work with their hands. Physiotherapists use exercise prescription and other modalities such as ultrasound and electrotherapy. But both professionals can take advantage of a variety of postgraduate courses and CPD courses to get trained in a multitude of techniques.
